Summary:
The Sports Talent Manager is responsible for overseeing the identification, recruitment, and management of sports talent within the organization. This role requires strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills to establish and maintain relationships with athletes, coaches, agents, and other industry professionals. The Sports Talent Manager will work closely with the Director of Sports Management to develop strategies for talent acquisition and talent development.
Responsibilities:
1. Identify and recruit top sports talent:
- Utilize industry knowledge and market research to identify potential sports talent.
- Attend sports events, competitions, and games to scout and evaluate potential talent.
- Establish and maintain a network of contacts within the sports industry to identify emerging talent.
- Evaluate the athletic, technical, and personal qualities of potential talent to determine suitability.
2. Negotiate contracts and agreements:
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with athletes, coaches, and agents.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with legal department to draft and review contractual agreements.
- Negotiate endorsements and sponsorship deals on behalf of the talent.
3. Provide talent management services:
- Develop and implement personalized development plans for athletes to enhance their skills and performance.
- Coordinate with coaches, trainers, and support staff to ensure proper training and development programs are in place.
- Monitor the progress and performance of talent and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Assist in coordinating travel arrangements, accommodations, and logistics for talent during competitions and events.
4. Maintain relationships with industry professionals:
- Build and nurture relationships with athletes, coaches, agents, and other sports industry professionals.
- Attend industry conferences, seminars, and events to network and stay updated with industry trends.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as sports agencies and talent scouts, to explore potential talent.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Experience:
- Proven experience in talent management or sports scouting within the sports industry.
- Strong knowledge of various sports and understanding of talent identification processes.
3. Skills:
